Kroger Marketplace New Mega Store In Shelby Township

Our Kroger store about a mile from our house closed on Saturday. DH and I went to the opening of the new Kroger Marketplace.

The new store is huge. If you have a Costco in your area, you will know what I mean when I say huge. I think it is even bigger than Costco. It has everything from food to clothing, even a Starbucks if you want to take a break. I prefer Tim Horton's coffee, so I won't be taking a break while shopping.

We decided to go early. It was a fun morning, which included samples and serve yourself cheese, fruit, and vegetable plate.

Not sure if we will be going to the new Kroger Marketplace on regular basis, since we also have a Kroger a little north and west of us.

Happy 4th. Of July!

I hope everyone is out there is having the best 4th. of July ever.

It has turned warm, with high humidity here in southeastern Michigan. We had a very rainy

May and early June so my garden and the surrounding are is a lush green.

The Best Kept Secret!

DH and I decided to visit the lighthouses along the Jersey Shore to see how they made out after Sandy. Since we would be going all the way up to Navesink Lighthouse, he thought we might have time to visit the Russian 9/11Memorial.

I had never heard of a Russian 9/11 Memorial.

The directions to the memorial in Bayonne were great.  Better than the directions out to the lighthouses. The person who made the lighthouse notes forgot to say whether you are coming from the north or south.

We would stay in Jersey City. Since we would be close to New York City I suggested we take a ferry over to Battery Park and visit the New York 9/11 Memorial. Well that turned out a completely new adventure.

The 100 Club for Writers

I am a member of RWA, Romance Writers of America. I have been a member for a few years. No, I don't write romance books. Though my stories do have romance elements to them.

The other day I had to wait with DH for his yearly check up. So I brought my latest issue of the monthly magazine for RWA. One of the articles was called:  Plan And Prepare For Success. The article mentioned retreats for your writing, but the 100 Club was new to me. It means  you write 100 words for your story everyday.


100 words sounds like a lot, but it really isn't.


While on the road I didn't write a word. I find hotel and motel rooms just are too noisy and uncomfortable to write, to think. I like to work in my studio and have a play-list going while I write.


Now that I have been home a week and have not typed one word. I decided to join the 100 Club. I am on day 4. Surprise, on all 4 days I wrote more than 100 words on my book. I am waiting on the editing on book 3 so I am planning out the next book.


I hope to keep this going, 365 days of 100 words or more.
